Experts in pharmabiotics, postbiotics & A.I. join Probiota speaker line-up

Speakers addressing the opportunities in the live biotherapeutics/ pharmabiotics space, postbiotics, and artificial intelligence are just some of the experts confirmed for the upcoming Probiota in Copenhagen.

Probiota, the leading annual event for the prebiotic​, probiotic ​and the microbiota-​focused food and pharma industries in Europe, will take place 23-25 February 2022 at the Scandic Copenhagen, Denmark.

The event will feature world-leading experts to present the latest scientific, technical and market insights.

Pharmabiotics, postbiotics & A.I.

Dr Magali Cordaillat-Simmons, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs Director, Pharmabiotic Research Institute (PRI) will open a session exploring live biotherapeutics/ pharmabiotics, with a presentation titled, “The microbiome: an example on how regulatory science paves the way for innovative therapies”​.

Dr Cordaillat-Simmons will be followed by a case study presented by a leading pharmaceutical player exploring the use of pharmabiotics (watch this space for updates!).

The programme will also feature a session about the emerging and exciting field of Postbiotics, with Dr Marta Tortajada Serra, VP of Science & Technology for Health & Wellness, ADM and Dr Simone Guglielmetti, Associate Professor, Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences, University of Milan, Italy among the experts confirmed for this session.

Also confirmed is Dr Kimmo Makinen, the Product Innovation Director at Novozymes OneHealth, who will explore the potential of artificial intelligence in the field, with a presentation titled, “Challenges in the discovery of probiotics and how AI could change the game”​.

The three-day programme will also feature presentations and panel discussions from a range of stakeholders, including representatives from key European regulatory agencies, consumer and market insights.

Other sessions will explore microbiome-based weight management interventions, opportunities for fermented foods, the gut-brain axis, the skin microbiome.

Exploring Copenhagen
