The awards team decided to give applicants an extra fortnight to prepare their entries after receiving a number of requests from organisations that had not been able to meet the original deadline but still wanted the chance to enter.
Ewa Hudson, Director of Insights at Lumina Intelligence and chair of the judging panel for the second year running, said: “Returning in its eighth year, the European NutraIngredients Awards will recognise once again the commitment to science and innovation as the nutrition industry works through new pressures to improve people’s health.
“Judges will spare no effort to find those who truly empower consumers to care for themselves and their loved ones, as both physical and mental health needs have been challenged beyond imagination.
“We want to hear of the investment in research, successful product developments and will reward the best applicants.
“With a rise in products and ingredients dedicated to women’s health – tackling issues such as fertility, pregnancy, menstruation and menopause – we’ve also introduced a new award category, Innovations in Women's Health Award.
“We would like to welcome new innovators with the best ingredients, products and research projects and also to invite participation of women-led start-ups.”
