The growth follows the company’s aim to improve their nutra divisions of Gonmisol and Monteloeder in this market, committing to the continuation of their support for UK customers since initiating supply from Europe in 2000.
Suanfarma also plans to ensure local stock in Leamington, central England, including their full range of ingredients for supplement brands, including key amino acid ranges, collagen, immunity solution caffeine, and many more.
“Our aim is to be even closer to our customers, to understand and meet their needs. With this milestone we become a local partner, strengthening our business relationship based on trust, reliability, supply chain management and proactivity” explains Miguel Poza, Suanfarmas´s nutra division director.
The globally established B2B manufacturer and distributor adds to its current global presence of 75 countries, serving 3,000 clients. The decision to extend their SuanNutra division follows the current socio-economic situation and changing international policies, ensuring the continuation of their work with established UK customers in the face of these new challenges.
“The recent world events have caused problems in the supply chain, including with delivery times. Improving service and customer care, as well as the need to get closer to our customers and let them know about our branded ingredients, were the reasons behind the set-up of Suanfarma UK,” comments Suanfarma’s head of market development, Maria Gutierrez.
The team explains that local warehousing will ensure delivery within 48 hours, whilst potentially unavailable ingredients can be requested for delivery within 7 working days from the company’s Barcelona stock.
The move suggests future growth for the company in this region, with Gutierrez adding, “We want to contribute to the innovative environment that the UK nutraceutical industry is so proud of. Researching is part of our DNA. Our pharmaceutical and industrial division are R&D driven and now with Monteloeder, our Nutra Division can offer innovative branded ingredients.”
“According to our internationalization experience in other territories, if you really want to become a significant player and provide real time solutions to your customers, you need to be close to them. We want UK to represent one of our main growth drivers for 2023 and beyond.”
The nutritional subcompany develops and produces both ‘essential’ and ‘innovative’ functional ingredients. Gonmisol produces a range of nutraceuticals including botanical extracts, bioflavonoids, and probiotics, whilst Monteloeder supplies a portfolio of branded products.
Their ‘Metabolaid’ formula consists of hibiscus flower and lemon verbena leaf extracts to achieve a strong polyphenol content, with clinically backed claims to support natural metabolism.
In-house trials have suggested the products ability to increase activation of AMPK; a metabolic switch increasing mitochondrial activity, which may increase the metabolism.
“As clients are already aware, quality is our first priority. We offer ingredients produced in the most prestigious audited factories in order to guarantee that all the facilities comply with our strict quality requirements,” Poza explains.
