August NPD launchpad

End of summer launches include pre- and probiotics targeting women’s health and immunity ahead of the approaching winter, whilst the hydration category continues to see innovation.

Gut health grows

Xtendlife has launched its new ‘Kiwi-Klenz’ prebiotic supplement to support a healthy digestive system. The product combines premium green and Livaux gold kiwifruit extracts to increase bowel regularity.

The product also promotes immune health by providing vitamins C and D, L-gutamine, as well as increasing the growth of the beneficial bacteria F. Prau which produces butyrate.

The health care company Designs for Health has released two new innovations, including ProbioMed Women and FemGuard-HF.

ProbioMed Women contains a formula of 10 bacterial strains in a dosage of 25 billion colony-forming units (CFUs). These include ASTARTE, with four of the most common microbial strains shown to balance the vaginal microflora and pH levels, DDS-1 to support abdominal comfort, as well as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus to promote healthy gut motility and vaginal microbial balance.

FemGuard-HF targets the symptoms of menopause with its synergistic combination of the phytoestrogens of genistein and lignans, gamma-oryzanol, DeltaGold tocotrienols, and taurine. The supplement aims to relieve mild hot flushes, regulate inflammation, and support hormonal and bone health.

Aguulp, the synbiotic supplement brand co-founded by British rapper Professor Green, has rebranded with the new name 'aguulp for biome’.

The supplement contains 50 billion live bacteria, including 5 billion CFU each of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, and Streptococcus species alongside prebiotics fructo-oliogosaccharides (FOS), inulin, and xylo-oligosaccharides (XOS), to reduce bloating and constipation, and support immunity.

Stephen Manderson, aka Professor Green, commented on the relaunch: "The product was always great, we've now just improved the look and name of the product.

"We've decided to rename the product to better reflect where the product works so well, namely your gut microbiome. There's a reason we haven't changed the formula - we didn't need to,” he adds.

Holistic hydration

The complete nutrition food brand Huel has launched its new ‘Huel Daily A-Z Vitamins’ drink. Containing 26 vitamins and 15 minerals at 100% RNI, the drink boasts 154 science-backed health benefits including immune support, healthy skin, nails & hair, and reduced fatigue.

The cherry and raspberry flavoured low-sugar formula also contains 3.5g fibre and 925mg electrolytes, in caffeinated or caffeine-free options.

The hydration supplement company ViDrate has released its new limited edition ‘Mango burst hydration’. Containing vitamin B12 and C, as well as electrolytes sodium and potassium chloride, the product provides hydration and immune support in a convenient sachet.

Nick Hird, co-founder of ViDrate told Nutraingredients: “ViDrate’s limited edition mango is one of our fastest selling products ever. The product has been in development for almost two years. We wanted to provide our community with a product that tasted like summer, without all of the sugar and artificial ingredients most mango flavoured drinks contain.”

Performance boost

The sports nutrition brand CNP has launched new ‘Prodough’ protein bars, in biscuit, glazed and jammy flavours based on classic doughnut flavours.

Each centre-filled bar contains 17g of protein for a convenient, tasty on-the-go snack to contribute to daily protein needs.

Applied Nutrition’s ABE PUMP innovation launched earlier month, formulated for pre-workout intakes to optimise athletic performance. The stimulant-free, nootropic-rich powdered drink supplement contains 10g citrulline malate, 2g beta-alanine and vitamin B12.

The supplement also contains 3g of creatine monohydrate, targeted at optimising short-term, high-intensity exercise.
