With NutraIngredients celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, it was fitting that the competition witnessed a 25% increase in the number of entries compared to 2025. Notably, the number of entries in the Start-Up category grew twenty-fold.
The newly introduced Healthspan category proved to be a very welcome addition to the list, with a combined 36 entries across the Healthspan ingredient and product categories.
Our judging panel of 28 industry experts was tasked with creating a shortlist of finalists. Winners will be announced on Wednesday 6th May, 2026, during a special awards celebration in Barcelona.
“2026 was certainly a year of breakthroughs — from patents to innovative technologies and science with strong clinical foundations,“ said Ewa Hudson, director of insights for Lumina Intelligence and chair of the judging panel for the NutraIngredients Europe Awards. ”It marked the arrival of new nutritional solutions designed to support consumer health needs, spanning everything from mind and mood, to microbiome discoveries, to multiple aspects of women’s health across the lifespan. These solutions delivered stronger efficacy and introduced new, cost‑effective, and highly scalable approaches.
