Maurten delivers antidote to flavor fatigue
Sports nutrition brand Maurten has launched Maurten Addition—a solution for overcoming flavor fatigue during training or racing.
Available in apple, cola, menthol, or orange flavors, the product comes in individual stick packs and is compatible with the brand’s Drink Mix or Hydrogel Technology products.
“Repeated consumption of carbohydrate fuels — even those with a neutral flavor profile — can lead to a state of flavor fatigue," the brand states on its website. “Symptoms can include a lack of motivation to maintain a planned fueling protocol, sickly or nauseous sensation, and a desensitized sense of taste.
“For athletes impacted by flavor fatigue, the result can be reduced fueling and an energy deficit. Maurten Addition enables athletes to vary their fuel according to preferred taste without impacting the function of Hydrogel Technology.”
