From Singapore to Australia and China, Asia-Pacific’s healthy longevity sector is abuzz with new research initiatives and new product launches.
In Singapore, several tertiary institutions and multinationals have entered into research partnerships to advance the understanding of healthspan and nutritional solutions.
The National University of Singapore, for example, has set up a clinical trial centre targeted at healthy longevity and geromedicine research, with companies such as Abbott Nutrition, Danone and Haleon on board.
Singapore’s focus on healthspan research is seemingly driven by a top-down government-led approach. Health minister Ong Ye Kung, for instance, had announced the launch of a SGD$350m (US$273m) grand challenge on maximizing healthy and successful longevity in May.
Elsewhere in Australia, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) is one of the few regulators that has approved nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) for use in dietary supplements last December.
As more companies start associating themselves with health span and longevity benefits, the webinar will explore the extent to which the category has progressed across the region, including major research initiatives, regulatory status of ingredients commonly associated with longevity health, consumer trends, and opportunities for new product development.
