EstroG-100 is a blend of three botanical extracts, namely Korean swallowwort (Cynanchum wilfordii), Jerusalem sage (Phlomis umbrosa) and Korean angelica (Angelica gigas).
An ingredient by South Korean company Naturalendo Tech, it won the Innovation in Women’s Health Award at the NutraIngredients-Asia Awards 2026, held in Bangkok last month.
Leliwell Probiotics for Pregnant and Nursing Women by Vital Nova Health and Technology (Chengdu) and Levagen+ by Saanroo were the other two finalists vying for the title.
Evidence for menopause relief
Featured in international brands such as OLLY’s Mellow Menopause and Doctor’s Best Menopause Spectrum, EstroG-100 is clinically studied for its benefits in alleviating menopausal symptoms.
Jimin Kim, team leader / global sales at Naturalendo Tech, told NutraIngredients that seven human clinical studies have been conducted using the blend, including studies on hot flashes and quality of life.
“EstroG-100 supports women during menopause. Clinical studies have shown improvements in symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep problems, and mood changes. It is a non-hormonal botanical ingredient,” she said. “The blend supports women’s well-being through several pathways, without acting like estrogen.”
One of the most recent studies on EstroG-100, funded by Olly PBC and published last November in the journal Menopause, reported that middle-aged women had fewer hot flashes – both in terms of intensity and frequency - whenever they took a supplement containing Estro-G100 and GABA while experiencing vasomotor symptoms.
Stress, mood swings and headaches also reduced in women taking the supplement compared to placebo.
An earlier study published over a decade ago in Phytotherapy Research reported that supplementing the botanical blend could significantly lower the Kupperman menopause index (KMI), which measures 11 menopausal symptoms.
The 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was performed on 64 pre-, peri- and postmenopausal White Hispanic, White non-Hispanic and African American women.
Perimenopause, sexual wellbeing the next area of focus
Having accumulated evidence for menopausal symptom relief, Kim said that the company would be targeting perimenopause and sexual wellbeing in its upcoming research.
While menopause has been a major part of the women’s health conversation, there is increasing interest in daily well-being and support for different stages of life, including perimenopause.
“In Korea, women’s health products used to focus mainly on menopause symptoms. Today, we see broader interest in daily well-being and support for different stages of life...” she said. “Many women want support for more than hot flashes. They also care about sleep, mood, and daily quality of life.” Watch the video above to find out more.
Perimenopause is the phase leading up to menopause. During this stage, women may start experiencing changes in their menstrual cycles, as well as symptoms such as hot flashes, irritability or bloating.
Consumer brands themselves are also paying more attention to the perimenopause category. Just last month, Ritual launched a perimenopause product containing shatavari as a core ingredient.
Swisse, on the other hand, highlighted perimenopause as a category with new product innovation opportunities.
According to its internal data, one in three women aged 35 and above are experiencing perimenopause or menopause symptoms. For most, symptoms are mild (49%) or moderate (38%).
To meet the needs of women experiencing perimenopause, it has launched a product containing KSM-66 ashwagandha, which works via hormonal modulation and regulation of the HPA axis.
The science of women’s health across life stages, from perimenopause to menopause, and the botanical ingredients supporting that journey, sits squarely within the conversation at the Nutra Healthspan Summit 2026.
