Michigan-based Graminex is introducing new pollen extract
formulations with increased potency and bioavailability for use in
dietary supplements.

The line, to be marketed under the brand name Pollenaid, includes PA60, a pollen extract standardized at not less than 10 per cent amino acids and PAX, a pollen extract standardized at not less than 15 per cent phytosterols.

The company says it has developed a new manufacturing process to produce the new extracts.

Pollen is thought to contain a wide variety of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, RNA, and DNA building factors, plant hormones, antioxidant factors, enzymes, unsaturated fatty acids, prostaglandin precursors and phytosterols.

Graminex claims to be the leading worldwide supplier of pollen extracts to the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. It also markets its own line of dietary supplements, mainly focusing in the area of prostate care and immune system support.

Its facility in Deshler, Ohio, manages more than 5,000 acres of farmland in Northwest Ohio for cultivation of its active ingredients. It has GMP Certification from NSF International, and is also certified under the ISO 9001 and Q9001-2000 standards for manufacturing and processing.
