The investment comes at a time of rapid growth for the firm that counted about €265m of €400m in revenue from its food ingredients division in 2014. This year it expects revenues of €430m.
The 20-year-old firm said the north German facility would create 50 jobs and add 10,000 capacity to its operations.
In a statement SternMaid and Stern-Wywiol Gruppe founder Volkmar Wywiol, said: “By enlarging our capacities we hope to come closer to meeting the demands of the international markets for convenience food. And we are glad that this investment will help to strengthen the economy of the Mecklenburg-West Pomeranian region.”
