Irish Health Trade Association (IHTA): ‘potential serious consequences’
“Our thinking would be in line with national public opinion which in general views a BREXIT as having potential serious consequences for Ireland… but it is a see how it develops scenario,” said IHTA general secretary, Phil Costigan.
“We have close economic ties and share a border with the UK, we would see a British withdrawal affecting Ireland more than other EU member states.
“There is no definite sense of impact at this time, it really would be a see how it develops scenario.
“The main Irish political parties favour the UK to stay within the European Union, public opinion here would be in line with that. Fingers crossed public opinion in the UK is similar.”
