NutraIngredients' virtual Sports & Active Nutrition Summit is set to kick off tommorow on September 23rd with a tour of the industry's biggest news from 2019 and 2020.

In the conference's introductory episode, NutraIngredients' Editors, alongside industry expert and guest host Nick Morgan, will guide viewers through the key news from the industry over the passed year, providing commentary and analysis with the assistance of some big sports nutrition players.

The impressive selection of special guests will include: Jason Rickaby, Founder of PhD Nutrition, Garyth Stone, MD at the investment bank Houlihan Lokey, Philip Calder, Professor of Nutritional Immunology at University of Southampton, Ben Smart, Vice Chair of ESSNA, and Global Quality & Regulatory Compliance at Nutrabolt, and more.

Our hosts will also provide a taster of what's to come over the following three weeks of themed webinars.

Performance and Recovery

Airing on September 30th, our 'Performance & Recovery' episode will discuss arguably the most important category of Sport Nutrition and question how brands are ensuring these core products remain relevant in today's increasingly mass market focused industry.

Hosted by Nick Morgan, founder of Sports Integrated Ltd, will be joined by an engaging line-up of guests including: Robert Walker, Chief Commercial Officer at Aminolabs Group; Frank Engel, Global Market Development Manager Health & Nutrition at Rousselot; James Hudson, a performance nutritionist and recovery sports scientist at Premiership Gloucester Rugby Club; Suzane Leser, Director of Nutrition Communication for GELITA; and Jeroen Wouters, from the national Sports Centre Papendal, in The Netherlands.

The Microbiome

NutraIngredients Section Editor Nikki Hancocks will host our second episode on October 7th, focusing on the microbiome. This episode will take a deep dive into the science behind the huge array of benefits associated with a healthy gut and discuss the immediate and future opportunities for sports nutrition brands looking to tap into this area of interest.

Nikki will be joined by keynote speaker Philip Calder, Professor of Nutritional Immunology at University of Southampton, Mariëtte Abrahams PhD MBA RD, CEO of Qina, a niche personalised nutrition-focused consultancy; and Brad Shwan, senior director at ADM.

Brain Performance (eSports)

Finally, our 'Brain Performance' episode will be hosted by NutraIngredients Section Editor Will Chu on October 14th. This is a fascinating new area of development for the industry and one with incredibly wide audience potential.

Joining this episode, will be guests: Koen Schobbers, founder of Koenz, a consultancy for firms in the gaming and e-sports industry; Mariko Hill, Product Development Executive at Gencor; Joris Dewit, Business Development Director Pharma Capsules, Nutrition & Animal Health, EMEA at Lonza; and Tony Gay, Head of Technical Sales & NPD, Nutrition, at Prinova Europe Ltd.
