This year's NutraIngredients Awards offer new categories for entrants to join but the same commitment to honour the best and brightest in ingredients, finished products, companies, people, and initiatives in food supplements and functional food & beverage.
During this year's application process, NutraIngredients has been catching up with some of last year's award winners to see how the accolade impacted their businesses.
The team at Anagenix, who won the 'Prebiotic ingredient of the year' award for their Livaux ingredient in 2022, say the title has provided them with global recognition in the industry.
Elizabeth Tay, the firm's marketing director, asserts: "Competition is tough and it is a coveted award amongst international players. By winning the prebiotic ingredient of the year award with Livaux we gain global recognition with our supreme prebiotic ingredient, which is a badge we carry with a lot of pride."
NutraIngredients is a respected and trusted leader in this industry, and so winning a NutraIngredients Award is significant. Previous finalists and winners proudly display their achievements in advertisements and at trade shows.
"The win has helped create a heightened state of awareness (particularly during award season) and recognition for Livaux and Anagenix," adds Tay. "For first-time customers, the award created immediate connectivity and receptiveness to hearing more. For our existing customers, they celebrated the success with us. It increased their confidence in using Livaux in their formulations and promoted stronger loyalty."
Speaking about the application process, Tay adds: "It is well worth the time and effort you invest into the application."
Last year’s ‘Personalised nutrition initiative‘ award winner, Vitcheck CEO Michael Wakeman, summarises this opportunity perfectly by discussing what this award meant to his startup business.
“I think the fact that a small start-up family business can win such an accolade demonstrates the objectivity of the judging process in terms of the way in which the applications are assessed based on individual merit rather than the name of the sponsor.
“But, whether the organisation is large or small I think the prestige associated with the awards is tremendous, so I would recommend anyone thinking of applying to do so.”
Entries for this year's awards are welcome across 15 categories. In addition to the ingredient and product awards, we also give other stakeholders the chance to shine with categories that include Sustainability Initiative, Innovation in Women's Health, Nutrition Research Project, and our Start-up Award.
Our Start-Up category recognises those companies that are up-and-coming and are doing it the right way, building their businesses on strong science, robust partnerships and collaborations, and exemplary ethics.
With the exception of our Editors’ Award, all of our categories are judged by independent industry experts. Being named a finalist or a winner means you’ve convinced some of the most respected and knowledgeable people there are, and that makes your achievement even more impressive.
