Here is the round-up of the latest nutraceutical trends in Asia-Pacific, including the how Korean brands are rapidly growing their presence across the globe and the consumer trends set to drive the industry forward in 2025.

K-wave: Korean nutra firms pursue global growth amid saturated domestic market - in-depth analysis

Korean health functional foods are actively seeking success overseas – an endeavour backed by the government as well as a means to pursue new growth opportunities in an increasingly saturated domestic market.

China, Japan, and the US are some of the most attractive markets for Korean firms expanding overseas.

Korea Ginseng Corporation, for example, has designed a series of Korean red ginseng products known as Koreselect for the US market.

Personalized protein and hydration solutions earmarked as 2025 megatrends

Hydration and diverse protein products are set to become year 2025’s hottest nutraceutical categories, according to Glanbia’s 2025 megatrends forecast.

In the US for instance, Glanbia’s data showed that up to 50 per cent of the consumers acknowledge the importance of hydration to health.

The demand for protein-fortified products, on the other hand, will be driven by diverse health goals, including energy and stamina support, weight management, and immunity.

Better-for-you claims no longer a value-add but an expected benefit – expert

Better-for-you claims are no longer seen as a value-add but an expected benefit among consumers today, says ADM.

However, consumers still carve for “indulgent” experiences although they have become more health conscious at the same time.

In Asia-Pacific for example, the company found that 77 per cent of the consumers want to reduce sugar in their diets, but 82 per cent also want products with “appealing or interesting tastes.”

2025 set to be the year of supplement format innovation - Nature’s Farm

The Asia Pacific market could see more varied supplement formats this year, catering to rising concerns around digestion, skin health, and sleep.

Innovations such as microcapsules and smaller pills are some examples of innovations that the industry has introduced in enhancing the supplement-taking experience.

This is according to Singapore brand and retailer Nature’s Farm.
