Watsons Singapore to roll out GNC store-within-store in 14 more outlets
GNC is back in the Singapore market via an exclusive deal with health and beauty retailer Watsons Singapore.
The duo recently launched GNC’s first store-within-store concept at Watsons Singapore’s flagship outlet at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Ngee Ann City.
The plan is to roll out the store-within-store concept in 14 more Watsons Singapore outlets by end of this year, Watsons Singapore told NutraIngredients-Asia in the latest episode of Behind the Big Story.
THE APRILAB banks on SEA’s interest in skin brightening, eyes entry into Indonesia
South Korea-based THE APRILAB is eyeing to enter the Indonesia market, on the back of growing popularity of skin brightening supplements in South East Asia (SEA).
Its product, Ultrabright for skin brightening, is its current best-seller and particularly popular in SEA - where its products are already available in Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia.
It is currently awaiting approval from the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority, for distributing its products in the country.
Kewpie expands immune health portfolio with functional vinegar
Kewpie Brewing, a subsidiary of Kewpie Corporation best known for its mayonnaise, is expanding its immune health products line-up.
Its latest launch is a functional vinegar that contains the acetic acid bacteria Gluconacetobacter hansenii GK-1, which has been shown to support immunity by activating plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDC).
It previously developed supplements containing GK-1 but decided to launch functional vinegar this time round after receiving feedback that consumers prefer functional foods.
CJ Bioscience launches gut microbiome test, aims personalised nutrition
South Korean functional health foods firm CJ Bioscience has launched a gut microbiome test kit and plans to tap on the data collected in developing personalised nutrition.
The aim is to align the company with the ongoing trend of hyper-personalisation nutrition.
Personalised nutrition is a booming industry in South Korea which has officially introduced the Customised Health Functional Food System in January 2025.
Korea Ginseng Corp builds up blood sugar control range post-regulatory approval
Korea Ginseng Corporation (KGC) is building up its blood sugar management portfolio after receiving approval from the Korea Food and Drug Administration.
It launched two products targeted at blood sugar management and body fat reduction in South Korea and China recently.
This comes after its red ginseng was officially recognised by KFDA for its blood sugar control functionality last year.
