This initiative seeks the most innovative and promising young businesses in active nutrition, providing them with a unique platform to gain exposure, establish valuable connections, and enhance their visibility.
Why Apply?
Three winning StartUp Stars chosen by the NutraIngredients editorial team will be invited to participate in the Active Nutrition Summit, taking place from June 23-25 in Vienna.
The selected startups will receive full delegate access, allowing admission to all summit sessions, presentations, and networking opportunities. They will also have the chance to deliver a live stage presentation, showcasing their company on the main event program and joining the exclusive start-up panel.
Additionally, they will benefit from prime visibility within the Startup Hub, a dedicated networking space designed to connect them with potential partners and investors. Finally, they will receive exclusive media coverage through NutraIngredients, including preview articles and multimedia features at the event.
Nikki Hancocks, Editor of NutraIngredients Europe, said of the competition: “This is a fantastic opportunity for any young business in the world of active nutrition to make a name for themselves within the industry.
“Winners will not only get to attend a prominent industry event but also join our stellar line-up of experts speaking on stage. This panel gives those immersed in the industry food for thought from newcomers, and often the start-up founders who join come away with fantastic feedback, advice, and new connections.”
AI-powered personalized nutrition startup
One previous StartUp Star is Prevess (meaning Prevention Effortless), founded by former professional swimmer, Timo Spring. The company harnesses the power of AI technology to provide in-the-moment science-backed personalized nutrition guidance to athletes.
It evaluates training, diet, hydration, and rest while offering AI-driven nutrition guidance backed by over 5,000 scientific papers. Prevess integrates with APIs, apps, and wearables, enabling sports clubs to provide athletes with continuous access to science-based nutrition advice. Users then receive personalized meal plans and training programs tailored to sleep patterns, diet, gender, environment, and even jet lag.
Two years after being selected as a winning startup, Spring said the company is making exciting strides in the personalized nutrition industry by securing contracts with leading companies.
“We are currently closing contracts with leading companies within the following industries: diagnostics, supplements and wearables.
“For Prevess, these opportunities are the step to become the leading company in the world in the field of personalized nutrition as API/platform offering.”
