With a deep passion for science and natural health, Newday’s Dr. Buchwald-Werner said her fascination with flowers, plants and nature began as a child and eventually led to obtaining a PhD in pharmaceutical chemistry.
“I think what really shaped my path and got me into nutraceuticals was my Saturday job at the local pharmacy because there I learned that people are deeply committed to learning about taking responsibility for their health and happiness,” she said.
“But unfortunately, sometimes they are missing guidance or they don’t find products that work for them and that was the initiating point for me to say okay I have to connect science with communication, I have to invest in science to develop products that are effective. I think this was my starting point and maybe also the time when my personal motto was shaped because I always say we need science to obtain facts, but we need passion to turn facts into products for a better future.”
Reflecting on her past work, Buchwald-Werner shared valuable lessons from her corporate experiences, highlighting the significance of curiosity, networking and determination—all of which helped fuel her entrepreneurial spirit and launch Newday.
“Newday is more than a business consultancy. It’s a new chapter of life, my journey,” Buchwald-Werner said. “Newday reflects who I am, what I believe, and what I can give to others, and I want to take what I have learned and inspire others for positive change. It can be individuals, companies, society and it’s a natural evolution for me to support others to shape a new day.”
In addition to Newday, Buchwald-Werner also was recently elected to the Women in Nutraceuticals (WIN) Board of Directors, co-chairs WIN’s Mentorship Committee and is pursuing a board readiness diploma at IMD Business School.
