What was supposed to be a yoga trip to Bali accidentally turned into a functional beverage brand. After experiencing sustained mental clarity without the typical coffee jitters during her yoga certification trip, Ashworth returned to the US with clarity – and a new business plan.
“When I came back to the states…I just didn’t have that alternative that I really needed to get through my afternoon. So kind of went in search for…the coffee fruit, bringing it to the States.”
Determined to recreate the magic she experienced in Bali, Ashworth launched AutoFocus, a specially crafted blend of coffee fruit and L-theanine that eliminates afternoon brain fog while providing sustained focus.
“I really realized that it wasn’t just something that I needed in the afternoon, everybody needs it,” said Ashworth, founder of Productive Health Co. “My kids use it for studying and exams and athletes are using it for performance to be their best self, so really creating a drink that was a healthier alternative and helps you be your best you. So, yeah, I’m really excited about it.”
Ashworth’s story also goes beyond beverages. As a successful co-author of books about women’s life stages, she spent years interviewing hundreds of women and discovering tools for balanced living. She emphasized how women often struggle with societal expectations and pressure to find their passion and purpose, advocating for cutting through the noise to make authentic choices. Her business ventures, including Ash and Ames jewelry with business partner Amy, focus on empowering women to achieve financial freedom and make decisions that align with their personal happiness and life circumstances.
“There’s so many tools and tips that we learned through conversation and hearing what people are going through and helping them navigate living a balanced life, not being so hard on yourself, making choices that are right for you and not for others. So I think all of those tools help guide me through my life when I was at those different stages, it takes a village.”
Ashworth reflected on her journey of redefining success and happiness, describing how her various endeavors unexpectedly aligned with an underlying purpose of helping women live their best lives.
“What’s so interesting about being in this stage of my life that it all kind of comes together when you’re looking at it backwards, but when you’re in it, you’re like, ‘wait, what is this? This is kind of random. Why am I doing this?’ But, but then, you’re like wait, this was all meant to be. And [there’s] this underlying purpose that you didn’t really necessarily acknowledge or know until you’re on the other side.”
