After witnessing decentralized clinical trials remain accessible only to major pharmaceutical companies, Framroze launched Alethios, an affordable software platform that builds the infrastructure for decentralized human health research across healthcare, supplements, cosmetics and medical devices.
From large, gold-standard randomized controlled trials to exploratory or pilot consumer perception research, Alethios allows research teams to design and run structured studies remotely through photos, videos, wearables and at-home biomarker testing.
Framroze said her personal experience with long COVID played a major role in shaping her approach to affordable personalized health.
“I wish it hadn’t taken that experience to make me so much more empathetic,” she said. “The pandemic really focused on democratizing certain technologies, from wearables to salivary assay kits to dry blood spot kits at home. I mean, everybody was doing a nasal swab and doing a PCR test at home. I think it changed how I think about the participation side of clinical research for sure.”
While Alethios was founded in 2023 by Framroze, it did not officially launch until October 2025. Despite not investing in marketing, the company has managed to attract a roster of clients through referrals and was named a NutraIngredients-USA Startup Award Finalist for its impact on modernizing study execution across the nutrition and health sector.
“We begin cash flow positive with our first customer within two to three months after incorporation,” she said. “We were really focused on using revenue right at the beginning to tell whether we were getting signals from the market to see if there was an actual product market fit for us.”
Framroze added that another big focus for her is having boots on the ground in order to remain close to her customers.
“That means you can’t really lie to yourself about whether or not your solution is the next big thing,” she said. “You are really focused on whether or not your customer is saying, ‘not only do I think this the next big thing, but I don’t just want to run one study, I want to run three or four or five with you.’ So it’s been very exciting.”
Looking ahead, Framroze is planning for some new features that utilize generative AI to streamline processes and reduce time spent on tedious tasks to further empower researchers.
