The acquisition is expected to drive product innovation, retail expansion, and, potentially, to grow combined annual revenues to over $55 million by 2027.

Imaraïs Beauty products are currently sold through retailers including Ulta Beauty, Target, Nordstrom and Sprouts Farmers Market, with a planned nationwide CVS rollout expected next month.

Speaking to NutraIngredients, spokespeople from Imaraïs Beauty and Healthy Extracts explained that the partnership gives Healthy Extracts “immediate relevance in beauty-from-within, a high-growth category where brand, retail access, consumer trust and product experience matter.”

The spokespeople added that “for HYEX, the attraction was the combination of a culturally relevant brand, major retail traction, Sommer Ray’s consumer reach, and the ability to apply our precision-dose and delivery technology to a platform that already has market momentum.”

According to the companies, the acquisition is expected to support additional product development and retail expansion as consumer demand for functional gummies continues to grow.

Healthy Extracts said the combined platform could reach an annualized revenue run rate of approximately $24 million by the end of 2026, with projected revenues exceeding $55 million in 2027.

The company also cited increasing retailer interest in beauty-from-within and wellness gummies as a driver for future product innovation.

“Retail expansion gives us better consumer feedback, sell-through data and channel-specific insight that will help us refine flavors, formats, functional benefits, pack sizes and new SKUs,” said the spokespeople.

“Our goal is not just to add products...it is to build a disciplined pipeline around consumer demand, retailer needs and formulations that can scale,” they added.

Don Swanson, chairman and CEO of Healthy Extracts, said in a statement that the acquisition “strategically positions Healthy Extracts within the approximately $787 billion global health and beauty market while significantly accelerating our long-term growth strategy.”

Precision dosing and manufacturing capabilities

According to Healthy Extracts, its manufacturing infrastructure and precision-dose technologies were key to the rationale for the acquisition.

The spokespeople said the partnership would allow the company to expand formulation capabilities and scale gummy production while focusing on dosing consistency and manufacturing quality.

“In a crowded market, the winners will not just have great packaging or influence, [but] they will need products that deliver consistent active dosing, clean manufacturing and repeatable consumer outcomes,” they explained.

The combined business would also explore opportunities beyond beauty-focused products, including formulations targeting hydration, stress, sleep, women’s wellness and healthy aging, they shared.

Functional gummies continue to gain momentum

Industry demand for convenient delivery formats continues to support growth in the gummy supplement category, according to the companies.

The spokespeople added that consumers increasingly expect products that combine ease of use with formulation quality and efficacy. “Gummies have moved from novelty to a serious delivery format, especially as formulation, dosing and manufacturing improve.”

“Over the next several years, we believe the category will separate between basic gummy brands and companies with real formulation technology, scale, compliance and retail execution,” they added.

The acquisition also brings continued involvement from fitness influencer Sommer Ray, who will remain with the company as chief innovation officer. According to Healthy Extracts, Ray’s social media following exceeds 40 million.

The spokespeople said the companies are aiming to combine consumer engagement with product performance.

“Sommer and Imaraïs Beauty create awareness and trust, but repeat purchase comes from product performance,” they said. Therefore, “our role is to strengthen the formulation, dosing consistency, manufacturing discipline and science-backed positioning behind the brand.”

“Influence can introduce the consumer, [but] efficacy and experience keep the consumer,” they added.
