The phrase comes from words her mother hand-painted on the family’s entry door, serving as a daily reminder to make a positive impact, no matter how small. After losing her mother to cancer, Sather has continued carrying that message forward both personally and professionally.
In her role at Swanson, Sather applies this philosophy by fostering positive relationships with colleagues while ensuring customers have access to safe and effective wellness products. She views sharing science-backed information and helping consumers make informed health decisions as one way to make a meaningful difference.
Sather’s perspective on supplements was largely shaped by growing up in an environment focused on natural health.
“A lot of the products and ingredients that were in our cabinet over 30 years ago are trending now and so there’s a lot to be said about traditional holistic medicine and some of the ingredients that have been around for many decades,” she said.
While she values historical use and traditional knowledge, Sather noted the importance of continuing to evaluate emerging research. She highlighted gut health as an area in particular where longstanding beliefs are increasingly supported by new scientific discoveries.
As a mother of three boys, Sather’s commitment to product quality is deeply personal. She explained that she evaluates products through the lens of whether she would confidently give them to her own family. She said her access to formulation details, testing protocols and quality documentation reinforce her responsibility to ensure products meet high standards.
Leadership is another area where Sather is passionate. She believes effective leaders prioritize people over performance metrics, leading with empathy, encouragement and support.
“Being a leader is such a privilege–and I don’t take it lightly,” she said. “I try to lead with empathy and positivity. I care far more about each of my team members as a person than as an employee, truly. So I want to support them, encourage them, provide them space to grow and maximize their potential.”
Looking ahead, Sather said she is energized by the evolving regulatory landscape, ongoing scientific discoveries and the opportunity to help improve people’s health through trusted supplements.
