Three industry experts specializing in consumer product development, research and regulations will present their insights on the healthspan and healthy longevity nutraceutical category this Thursday (August 27) at 3 pm Singapore time.

Hosted by NutraIngredients, the editorial webinar “Healthspan and longevity: New developments from R&D to regulatory status” will feature a 1-on-1 fireside chat with health and life sciences sector legal expert Dr. Teresa Nicoletti, as well as a panel discussion with established longevity supplement brand SRW Laboratories CEO Greg Macpherson and aging research scientist Assistant Professor Vincenzo Sorrentino from the National University of Singapore’s medical school.

As more companies associate themselves with health span and longevity benefits, the webinar will explore how far the category has progressed across the region, including major research initiatives, the regulatory status of ingredients commonly associated with longevity health, consumer trends, and opportunities for new product development.

The webinar is available on demand for three months and is supported by event sponsors Biova, Morinaga Milk, PhytoGaia and Saanroo.

He founded the New Zealand–based longevity company in 2019 to challenge the way people perceive and experience aging.

Drawing on a career that began in pharmacy and spanned medication management and health technology, he built SRW around the Hallmarks of Aging, developing the Cel cellular-nutrition range that takes a multi-targeted approach to modulate aging.

The company has so far conducted a 12-month study on its Cel System supplement range with researchers from the US. Findings published in Aging-US last March reported that the range may effectively reduce biological age and improve health metrics.

The Cellular Rejuvenation Series is also a finalist in this year’s NutraIngredients Asia Awards’ Product of the Year: Healthspan category. In 2023, the company also took home the Product of the Year: Sports Nutrition with its product Msc1 Tone, which contains a proprietary blend of beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB), ornithine-alpha-keto-glutarate (OKG) and beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHB) to support muscle tone, fat metabolism in cells and ketosis.

Greg is also the author of Harnessing the Nine Hallmarks of Aging, Age Less and a frequent speaker and commentator on longevity and the future of healthspan.

Dr Sorrentino is an Italian-born scientist in the fields of aging, mitochondrial biology and neuromuscular degeneration. After his PhD with honors obtained at the University of Amsterdam, he carried out his postdoctoral research in Prof. Johan Auwerx’s lab at the EPFL in Switzerland.

Between 2019 and 2022, he was group leader at the Nestlé Institute of Health Sciences in Switzerland, where he led research focused on integrating basic discoveries on natural bioactives that modulate NAD+, mitochondria and protein homeostasis with their possible translation into clinical applications.

His work on mitochondria and NAD+ metabolism in Alzheimer’s disease and muscle aging has resulted in his discoveries appearing in Nature (2017), Cell Reports (2021). His work on the discovery of a novel natural NAD+ modulator and a link between cellular senescence, NAD+ metabolism and epigenetics in early kidney disease was also published in Nature Metabolism (2024) and in Cell Reports (2026).
