What really matters to the esports community?

Skinz.gg is a company that sits at the intersection of dietary supplements and video gaming. The company has launched a variety of products designed to help players maximize performance.
Gary Kleinmen, president of Skinz.gg, said the company is focused on several key areas that impact gamer performance.
“Gamers game for extended periods of time. Eight to 10 hours on any given day, they’re gaming, and that's casual gamers, competitive gamers and professional esports athletes on teams. And as a result of that, there's a wide variety of symptomatology, and that's carpal tunnel syndrome, pain in their head, neck, back, and shoulders. The chairs—as cool as they—are not ergonomically sound in their design, there's sleep issues, there's focus issues, they're getting riled up at the end of an extended gaming session and then they got to go to sleep. So there's no shortage of specific conditions that gamers suffer from on a daily consistent basis and we have a suite of products that address each of them,” said Kleinmen.
As Kleiman points out, the esports and gaming industry is heavily community-driven. Because video games are more social than ever, gamers are finding themselves in growing social networks. Having a clear picture of where these subgroups are engaging with esports informs brands of the best entry point.
“If there's anything unique about gamers and gaming, it is a very, very insular community and gaming is really not about the games per se because they're transient, but it's about the communities and they continue to grow and flourish. So, if you go back, five years, Fortnight, was it. Now, you don't really hear about Fortnight or Minecraft. They still have their communities, but you're hearing about Valorant, certainly Call of Duty and some other ones. So we address each of the different communities. We host a tournament every Thursday night for Call of Duty players, we are the official health and wellness partner of an esports team where we work with the players to understand where they think they need help. And then we go back to our product innovation team and go, ‘come up with it,’” laughed Kleinman.
