As consumers gravitate toward longevity, metabolic health and science-backed wellness, BODi is doubling down on what CEO Carl Daikeler calls the fundamentals: movement and whole-food nutrition.

Daikeler said the company’s strategy has remained largely unchanged despite the industry’s growing interest in GLP-1 medications, peptides and other emerging technologies.

“The puck has finally arrived to where we skated,” he said, noting that BODi’s longstanding focus on combining fitness with nutrition has become more relevant as consumers prioritize long-term health over aesthetics.

That shift also prompted the company’s rebrand from Beachbody to BODi. While the pandemic accelerated demand for at-home fitness and heightened awareness of metabolic health, Daikeler said changing consumer priorities and the body positivity movement reinforced the need for a brand that reflected overall wellness rather than appearance.

“In order to be relevant and also to open the door for partnerships, frankly, with health insurance or wellness providers, the name BODi…was just more apropos than the term Beachbody,” he said. “And it was a tough thing. Beachbody was my baby 28 years ago and to change the name was difficult. But I think it serves us well.”

Although protein remains a key category, Daikeler argued that today’s consumers are seeking more comprehensive nutrition solutions. He emphasized that Shakeology was never intended to compete solely as a protein shake, but rather as a daily nutrition product formulated with whole-food ingredients, fiber, adaptogens and probiotics designed to support overall wellness.

He also believes consumers are becoming increasingly discerning about ingredient quality and Looking ahead, Daikeler expects the industry’s greatest opportunity will come not from chasing the latest health trend, but from making healthy habits easier to adopt.

While technologies such as AI, GLP-1s and wearable devices continue to reshape the wellness landscape, Daikeler maintained that lasting health still depends on consistent physical activity and quality nutrition.

“We just stay in our lane and we serve the customer with a level of simplicity and confidence that we think helps them go about their day knowing that in general, they’ve got the important boxes checked,” he said. “And then what else they do to biohack or to try to get leverage on their behavior–that’s up to them. We’re trying to keep things simple.”
