Rather than continuing to treat eye health as a single benefit, companies are pairing familiar carotenoids with omega-3s, B vitamins, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, hydration-support ingredients and even habit-building technology.
The result is a product pipeline that looks less like a shelf of interchangeable eye vitamins and more like a set of targeted formats and claims. Some launches stay close to the clinical legacy of AREDS-style macular support, while others lean into dry-eye comfort, digital strain and everyday visual wellness increasingly delivered in convenient formats including liquids, beverages and soft chews.
Bausch + Lomb PreserVision AREDS3
Launched into the U.S. market, the Bausch + Lomb PreserVision AREDS3 advanced formula builds on standard AREDS2 nutrients with the addition of a proprietary B-vitamin complex, based on growing evidence of the role B vitamins may play in eye health. Available nationwide at Target, Walgreens and Amazon, the formula is designed to support macular health for a broader range of individuals, including those in earlier stages of age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
“AMD affects millions of people, often long before symptoms meaningfully change day-to-day life,” said John Ferris, president, Consumer for Bausch + Lomb following the release.
“Historically, options to support macular health earlier in the condition have been limited. PreserVision AREDS3 reflects decades of research and our commitment to advancing eye health through science, offering an option for a broader range of people looking to support their macular health.”
A long-term clinical trial of the new formulation, which includes lutein, zeaxanthin, vitamins C/E, zinc, copper, plus B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, biotin, folate and B12, is still being planned.
YURU’s liposomal lutein and habit app
Japanese firm YURU Co Ltd introduced its LUTE VITA eye supplement containing LUZvision liposomal lutein, which the company says offers an absorption rate 4.8 times higher than that of conventional lutein.
Complimentary ingredients include astaxanthin, coenzyme Q10, low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, collagen peptides, ceramide, horse placenta, β-Nicotinamide mononucleotide (β-NMN), liposomal vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A. The product is paired with a habit-support app called nometa to encourage consistent consumption.
“As we face the unstable rhythms of modern life, increased screen time and the decline that comes with aging, we are once again realizing the importance of taking care of ourselves from the inside out,” said YURU’s CEO, Takayuki Seko, who holds a PhD in pharmacy and is a behavioral science researcher. “LUTE VITA is a supplement that combines scientifically based ingredients with mechanisms that support habit formation so that you can add something right or even a little better to your daily life.”

“We are excited about the launch of Focus Lutein, which is a great option for anyone wanting to support their daily eye health routine or individuals with a family history of abnormal eye aging,” said Clint Worley, chief operating officer at Focus Vitamins. “Additionally, this daily eye health supplement helps to increase macular pigment density, which assists in optimal blue light filtration.”

“Omega-3s have long been recognized for their role in ocular surface health,” said George Haines, executive vice president of OCuSOFT Inc. “With Retaine Omega Forté, we’re offering a supplement that not only meets the needs of dry eye sufferers but also addresses consumer concerns around quality, bioavailability and taste.”

Jubileye Health Dry Eye & Glare Defense entered the market, positioned as a 2-in-1 supplement for ocular hydration and glare sensitivity.
Its formula includes betaine, hyaluronic acid, electrolytes, phytosomal curcumin, lutein, zeaxanthin, astaxanthin and bilberry, leveraging osmolytes for cellular hydration, hyaluronic acid for tear-film stability and visual antioxidants for glare protection.
The company specifically emphasizes that the product is omega-3-free, differentiating it from the large dry-eye supplement segment built around fish oil.
“Our goal was to create a solution that goes beyond surface-level relief,” said Dr. Raymund Garza, optometrist and creator of Jubileye Health Dry Eye and Glare Defense.
“By focusing on cellular hydration, osmotic balance and antioxidant protection, we’ve developed a formula that supports eye comfort from the inside out. Patients wanted a clean, omega-3-free option that truly works—and Jubileye delivers exactly that.”

Featuring a 10:2 ratio of lutein to zeaxanthin, the formula is fortified with flaxseed oil to support tear-film hydration and healthy circulation and vitamin A and zinc to help maintain photoreceptor cell function and support low-light vision clarity.

The Eye Drink, the first eye health RTD
Incubated by Fast Moving Consumer Goods, The Eye Drink is a lifestyle-friendly beverage designed to make eye health simpler and more accessible. Formulated by optometrists, it includes go-to lutein and zeaxanthin, along essential vitamins, minerals and omega-3.
“Eye health is often overlooked until there’s a problem,” said Dr. Roger Wu, creator of The Eye Drink. “We created The Eye Drink to spark everyday awareness and make eye health feel as easy and approachable as grabbing a beverage.”
According to the company, clinical findings show that product outperforms traditional supplement capsules in both bioavailability and speed of results thanks to its juice format. It advises consumer to drink one 16.9 oz bottle for every two hours of screen time.
Key takeaways
• Eye health is segmenting. New launches are clustering around healthy aging/AMD support, dry-eye and ocular surface comfort, and screen-heavy modern lifestyles.
ye health is being reframed as daily maintenance for an always-on visual routine—not only as support for aging eyes or diagnosed conditions.
• Formats are diversifying. Brands are moving beyond capsules into liquid omega-3s, liposomal delivery, soft chews and ready-to-drink beverages.
• Ingredient stacks are getting broader. Lutein and zeaxanthin remain central, but companies are layering in omega-3s, B vitamins, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, hydration-support nutrients and app-based adherence tools.
• Claims are becoming more specific. Products are being positioned around macular health, tear-film support, glare sensitivity, blue-light filtration, eye fatigue and daily visual wellness.
• Evidence still matters. AREDS-style formulas have a defined role in certain stages of AMD, while research is ongling to substantiate generic “better vision” supplement claims.
