UK-based supplement brand Tonic Health has launched a brain health focused creatine blend catering to demand for convenient solutions with efficacious doses.

Bringing together four clinically studied ingredients in one daily scoop, Tonic’s new Creatine + Brain SKU offers 10g of creatine alongside taurine, biotin and blueberry.

Sunna van Kampen, founder of Tonic Health, best known for its additive-free effervescent multivitamins and kids gummies, said the NPD is in response to customer demand for a creatine product that also fits into everyday routines with a high enough dose to offer physical and cognitive health benefits.

“This is in response to our community asking for something straightforward, effective, and easy to take daily. Many are juggling work, family, and health goals, and wanted a product that supports energy and mental focus as well as physical performance,” he told NutraIngredients.

In a post announcing the launch on LinkedIn, he noted that because the muscle absorbs creatine first, a higher dose is needed to boost the brain’s stores and argued the dose required to support cognitive health is not delivered by most products entering the market.

“I started Tonic because I kept turning over supplements and finding doses too small to do anything. Creatine is the clearest example I’ve come across yet,” he said. “It’s suddenly everywhere, and I’m glad, because it’s one of the most researched and proven in nutrition. But the version being sold to most people isn’t the version that will actually work.

He added that under-dosed innovations are “all products built for the trend”, as opposed to health benefit.

The powder contains 10,000mg micronized ‘ultra-pure’ 99.9% creatine monohydrate, to support energy production, plus 2,000mg Taurine, one of the body’s most abundant amino acids needed to work alongside creatine to support energy metabolism and hydration, as well as 1,000mcg Biotin to contribute to normal psychological function, support focus and mental performance, and 800mg of concentrated blueberry extract, packed with antioxidants to support overall vitality.

“The understanding of creatine has moved on and it isn’t just for people chasing PBs in the gym,” said Natalie Louise-Burrows, Head of Nutrition at Tonic. “Pairing creatine with taurine, which supports energy metabolism and hydration, biotin, which supports normal psychological function and focus, and blueberry, naturally rich in antioxidants to combat oxidative stress, gives your brain all-round support for everything it needs to do during the day. And with Tonic, it’s one easy scoop in your water. You’re not juggling multiple supplements and having to remember to take them all.”

The SKU contains no added sugar, artificial sweeteners, fillers or bulking agents, is third-party lab tested and is suitable for vegans.

Discussing the challenge of choosing a supplier in a category which struggles with differentiation, van Kampen said the company tested countless options but ultimately went with a supplier “who could deliver consistently high purity, third party testing on every batch with full traceability and super solubility for ease of consumption”.

Semi-essential nutrient

Substantial scientific interest has led to a growing body of evidence to support creatine’s benefits for everything from muscle health to memory to bone mineral density with scientists arguing it should be considered a semi-essential nutrient.

That backing has transitioning the compound from a niche bodybuilding supplement into a mainstream wellness staple. According to Grand View Research the European creatine supplements market size was estimated at $220.8 million in 2024 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 16.2% from 2025 to 2030.

After being named as the UK’s third fastest-growing privately owned food and drink companies by Alantra in April 2026, Tonic expects to further drive this surge in interest.

“We’re incredibly proud of Creatine + Brain and think it will be a real game changer in how people think about Creatine,” van Kampen said.
