Women’s hormonal health supplements brand MyOva has launched Magnesium Nightcap hot chocolate powder, to support women experiencing sleep disruption, racing thoughts and wired-but-tired evenings.

Lyma launches four-dimensional gut support

London-based high-end women’s health company Lyma has launched a functional nutrition powder designed to modulate the gut microbiome through probiotics, prebiotic fibres and bioactive compounds.

“LYMA ID² is the only gut powder in the world to contain 8.5g of four different prebiotic fibre strains to feed every section of the colon - from ascending through to distal,” Lucy Goff, founder of Lyma, told NutraIngredients. “It is a gut powder that has a scientifically balanced probiotic-prebiotic ratio to support colonization, rare vegan DHA protected by polyphenols for cellular integrity, and a superstructure of over 25 chelated vitamins and minerals for optimal absorption.

“Each element is designed to work in sequence, repair the gut first, then deliver nutrients in a form the body can actually use.”

The product is formulated using IMOfibe, oat beta-glucan, chicory inulin, and FOS, to promote a more balanced and diverse microbiome.

A spore-forming probiotic (ActiBio H. coagulans) is included to survive stomach acid and reach the gut alive, while kiwifruit extracts (Actazin and Livaux) are included to support digestive enzymes and microbial diversity. Algal DHA, protected by olive polyphenols, provides a plant-based omega-3 for brain, heart and skin health.

Alongside this, a range of essential vitamins such as A, C, D, E, K and the full B-complex, together with key minerals like magnesium, zinc, iron, selenium, copper, manganese, chromium, iodine and molybdenum, aim to support energy production, immune function, antioxidant protection and healthy metabolism.

The product aims to support microbiome diversity through multi-site prebiotic fermentation, to improve nutrients absorption through enzymatic and probiotic support, to provide metabolic support through vitamins and minerals, to offer cellular protection through antioxidant mechanisms, and to utilize the gut–brain axis.

Regularity and comfort with bowel and bloat relief

Female-focused gut health brand We Are Regular has launched a Bowel + Bloat Relief line combining magnesium citrate with ‘soothing botanicals’ to help support digestion.

Designed as a gentler alternative to laxatives, magnesium citrate offers a stool-softening function alongside vitamin C, ginger, and peppermint which offer “a trio known for easing digestive tension and calming discomfort”, according to the firm.

“Magnesium plays a supportive role in healthy digestion, particularly in helping the muscles of the gut relax and contract naturally,” said Laura Jennings, the firm’s head of nutrition. “Magnesium isn’t a primary driver of gut motility, but it does support normal muscle and nerve function throughout the body, including the tract. Certain forms of magnesium, like magnesium citrate, can also help ease constipation because of their natural osmotic effect.”

Clear protein products are translucent supplements that taste and look like fruit juice or sports drinks rather than the traditional thick, milky protein shakes.

Available in blackcurrant, mango or passion fruit, each serving delivers 20g of whey protein isolate, zero fat, low lactose (0.2%), and zero sugar.

“These products are among the last big innovations to happen within protein,” Nick Morgan, managing director of Nutrition Integrated, told NutraIngredients, adding that the range aims to ‘democratize’ the category and break the “stereotype of protein being delivered in the shake.”

Zoe targets fiber-gap with gut health bar

Zoe, the gut health research and personalized nutrition platform, has launched The Gut Health Bar, a snack bar containing plant ingredients designed to support the gut microbiome, whilst providing fiber and protein.

The bars come in two flavours, dark chocolate and sea salt, and raspberry and goji berry, with each containing various plant ingredients – among these are kombucha powder, seaweed, and red lentils.

According to Zoe, the bars have been designed to be chewy to slow the eating experience. Due to the bars retaining natural structures of the plants, the “more substantial texture” of the product slows eating rate, which can support metabolism and help prevent overeating, Federica Amati, head nutritionist at Zoe, explained.

By keeping many of the natural structures of plant ingredients intact, this also allows them to travel further down the digestive tract, feeding gut microbes.

Each bar contains 8g of fiber and 7g of plant protein. Though this level of protein is substantially lower than some of the protein bars available on the market, as the ‘proteinification’ of food and beverage products continues, Amati told NutraIngredients this is a case of “marketing overriding science.”

“While most people get plenty of protein, 96% of UK adults are deficient in fiber— it is the country’s number one deficiency,” she said. “We are shifting the focus back to real-food diversity. Many ultra-processed bars achieve 20g of protein by using isolated powders and commercial cosmetic additives to make them palatable, lacking overall nutritional benefit and possibly disrupting gut health.”
