Garlic
Garlic (Allium sativum) consistently ranks in the top five top selling herb and botanical supplements in the US. The health benefits of garlic are predominantly cardiovascular, with studies indicating that whole garlic, aged garlic, or extracts may inhibit enzymes involved in lipid synthesis, decrease platelet aggregation, prevent lipid peroxidation, and/or increase antioxidant status.
Data also supports a role for garlic to support blood pressure and to potentially help with blood sugar management.
